My guest today is the legendary Gareth Jones...
Gareth has always found inspiration in recorded music and has dedicated himself to the form. After initial training at the BBC in the late 70s He started this journey at Pathway Studios in London and helped build the Garden studio in Shoreditch. In the early 80s he moved to Berlin for 10 years and worked at the legendary Hansa studios.
His work goes all the way back to 1980 and includes artists such as Fad Gadget, Depeche Mode, Wire, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Erasure. More recently he’s worked with Stubbleman, The Leisure Society, Spiritual Friendship and Yann Teirsen. It’s fair to say that I could fill the entire podcast just mentioning the artists he’s worked with.
Hope you enjoy this as much as I did recoding it....Thanks Gareth.

Welcome to MixBus with Kevin Paul.
This series aims to allow some of the best producers, mixers, engineers and other music industry people to discuss their careers and their approach to music.
In this first episode I’m delighted to welcome producer and mixer Catherine Marks.
Catherine first moved to London in 2005 to train as an assistant engineer under Flood at Assault and Battery studios in London.
In 2009 Catherine began working alongside the Brit Award-Winning producer and mixer Alan Moulder, where she worked on projects including Interpol, Foals, Death Cab for Cutie, Killers, Ronnie Vannuci and Blonde Redhead.
Catherine won the 2016 MPG Award as Breakthrough Producer of The Year and in 2018 Catherine won the award for MPG Producer of the Year. I sat down with Catherine to discuss how and why she got into the studio and what it’s like to work at Assault and Battery studios with Flood and Alan Moulder and her approach to working with bands and production.
